Humanitarian & development relief
Landmark Relief International helps families facing poverty, hunger, and crisis meet their most basic needs and rebuild their own means of living — working through trusted local partners, held to recognized humanitarian standards, with firm control over every dollar.
The scale of the need
266 million
people across 47 countries faced high levels of acute food insecurity in 2025 — nearly double the share recorded in 2016.

Why our work connects
Hunger, poverty, and weak health systems are not separate problems.
A family that loses its harvest sells its livestock, pulls children from school, skips meals, and cannot afford the clinic. Our work addresses that cycle at three connected points.
01
The harvest fails, so the family sells the livestock it depends on.
02
Income disappears, and children are pulled out of school to cope.
03
Meals are skipped, and diets narrow until nutrition suffers.
04
The clinic becomes unaffordable exactly when it is needed most.
What We Do
Three connected areas of work.
Area 01
Health System Strengthening
We help essential health and nutrition services reach the people they currently miss — without building parallel systems.
4.6 billion
people lacked access to essential health services in 2023
— WHO & World Bank, Dec 2025
Area 02
Livelihood Empowerment
We help families rebuild the income and assets that make them resilient to the next shock, not just the current one.
839 million
people lived in extreme poverty in 2024, on under $3.00 a day
— World Bank, Sept 2025
Area 03
Food Aid & Agricultural Support
We meet urgent food needs and protect local food production at the same time — because the combination works far better than food aid alone.
17 times
greater food-security outcomes when food aid is paired with farm support
— FAO
Each area is delivered through local partners, measured against recognized standards, and reported transparently.
How we are held to account
We report what is true — including what is incomplete or went wrong.
We deliver through documented due diligence and written agreements that set out exactly what will be done, at what cost, and how it will be verified. We retain direction and control over our resources at every step, as Canadian charity rules require.
